Scottish Amateur FA Update on Non Contact Training

The Scottish Amateur FA were pleased to note the announcement from the First Minister on Tuesday 9th March that adult non contact training in groups of up to a maximum of 15 people, within your individual Local Authority area, can restart from Friday 12th March 2021.

This of course is hopefully the first step on the return of amateur matches in due
course, but we are delighted that this first step has occurred much sooner than
we had anticipated as the current lockdown restrictions are lifted.

After many months of no activity for amateur football this small easing of
restrictions will be a great benefit to all our member’s physical and mental
wellbeing, allowing them to once again meet up with teammates and club
members.

We all hope that restrictions will continue to be lifted sooner than expected as
the vaccination programme is rolled out and we can all return to the game we
enjoy in the near future.

In the meantime we would ask that all our members ensure the restrictions and
protocols are fully adhered to at all times and ensure that there is no reason for
the Scottish Government to reverse this positive step.

The approved Scottish FA guidelines on non contact training can be found here

Please enjoy the return of amateur football activity.
