A Message From the Scottish Amateur FA President.

Good afternoon to all our member clubs, officials and players, I hope you and your
nearest and dearest are all safe and coping during this terrible pandemic.

I know we are all wanting to be back playing football again but I remind you we must abide
by the timeline laid out in the government’s ‘Road Map’, but rest assured we will get back
playing at some point.

I’d again like to pass on my huge congratulations and respect to those of you out there,
both clubs and individuals who have been assisting in your local communities with offering
food parcels and the like to the most vulnerable in our society. I must say I’ve been
proud and humbled at the number of SAFA members who have undertaken this valuable
support for residents who more than most need such help. Well done to one and all on such efforts!

As I say, as per the document sent out recently from SAFA, I hope we will be back
playing in the forthcoming months, albeit we have no idea how many months ahead that
may be, and moreover I trust everyone involved in the Amateur game will be extremely
keen to be back with their clubs and teammates competing once more, as it is my fervent
hope that no clubs nor players are lost from Amateur Football because of this unprecedented
time with Covid-19. However, at the same time I urge you all to be mindful of the rules laid down
by the Scottish Government and Scottish F.A. in order that we can return safely sooner rather than
later.

In the meantime please look after yourselves, and stay safe for your own and others ‘
sake, until we’re back involved in the beautiful game.

Stuart Urquhart
Scottish Amateur FA President
