Scottish Amateur FA - Referee Support

Welcome to the Scottish Amateur FA Comet Support

Grassroots Football is nothing without our match officials. Working in partnership with the Scottish FA Referee’s Department, we are able to share with you some videos of the key steps of the COMET Admin system. These steps ensure that all the necessary game data is effectively recorded, and any misconduct is also recorded to allow our leagues to be able to deal with effectively and without delay.

We have broken our support into the most common areas below. Please click on each link for more information.

Pre Match Administration

The role of the official doesn’t start at the first whistle for kick off. See this short video below for the key steps to complete prior to match day.

Post Match Administration

Post match, the paperwork starts for the Match Official. This must be done and completed within 24 hours of the full time whistle, and is just as important as the match itself.

Reports and Report Writing

Report writing is a vital skill for match officials as these reports form the basis of any disciplinary investigations, as well as giving an insight as to how the game itself has been played. Including as much factual details in your reports is always a huge help to leagues and associations to ensure that fairness in the application of the laws of the game are applied.
