Arbroath teams are being offered free kits and a day out paintballing as an incentive to join a new six-a-side football league which kicks off this month at Arbroath Sports Centre. The community league will run every Sunday between 7 and 9 p.m. on the astroturf park and, thanks to sponsorship, the organisers are now able to offer teams free shirts to ensure they look the part.
Nationwide Paintball, the largest paintball company in the UK, will be sponsoring the league with teams signing up given a voucher entitling them to a day out paintballing.
Teams will play a half-hour game each week in a league system with promotion and relegation at the end of the campaign. There is no registration or affiliation fee and match costs are £2.75 per player per week.
League winners and runners-up receive top quality individual trophies whilst there is also a top goalscorer competition.
The leagues will be fully affiliated to the Scottish Amateur Football Association with all matches being supervised by qualified SFA referees. All equipment will be provided.
Anyone over the age of 16 can enter and you do not need to be an organised or established team, you may simply be a group of friends, work colleagues or mates from the pub.
Anyone interested in taking part can either contact the league organisers on 0870 3300 888 for more information or teams can register online at www.soccersixes.netMPUMinCharsCutOff:210 PageLength:1242 MPUPositionFromStart:250 MPUPositionRange:1000 hasVideoOrImage:False - -->
