The Story of the 3 Drumvale Legends...
Added On:4/18/2008

The story of 3 legends

On Thursday night, 3 Drumvale players with a combined total of over 60 years with the club, took to the field at Finlathen Park.

1st off, the Drumvale Secretary/Manager Frankie Colvin took up his position in the centre of Midfield it was evident that the pounds have rolled on through the years and it taken their toll and and he had to be replaced after 30 mins with his contribution 0.

2nd, that of Michael Dodds having been pushed up front for this game, a player who has kept himself really fit over the years with regular trips to the gym, sunbeds and beauty salons and a player that over the years has missed more sitters than anyone, but on this occasion helped himself to a nice little hat trick.

And last but not least the legend of them all with 25 years with the club and having only scored twice in all that time with the ''vale, Gordon Williamson scored his 1st ever hat trick not only for the club but in his footballing life. Gordon is modest guy and does not hog the lime light but has asked me to send this to the Tele sports desk to see if it can appear in the Sunday Football page as he thinks no one will believe that he scored a hat trick unless they see it in black and white.

Gaffer Frankie say''s any player that gives his amateur club a small percentage of what Gordon gives is doing well but to play for only one club your entire adult life is absolutely remarkable and I don''t think he is ready to give up yet. To finish, all I can say to all players is enjoy every minute you can play, coz you''re a long time retired when the legs don''t do what the mind wants them to do and my performance on Thursday is testiment to that.
