Perthshire amateur football look to the weekend
Added On:11/3/2008

ANTICIPATION of a good cup away day is building in the Fair city in advance of the clubs’ involvement in the third round proper of the Scottish Cup.

The longest travellers with be Letham Utd. who travel to Caithness to play their only representative Halkirk.

Both St John’s and Vale of Earn travel north to Aberdeen to play the Lads’ Club and Echt FC respectively, while the recently- formed Newmacher United travel the other way from Aberdeen to meet Letham.

Both Roselea and Meigle have a short hop to Dundee to play the university and Firies. Home berths were secured as Dumbarton Rock travel north to Ballinluig and Ayrshire cracks Kilbarchen head out to Balmoral. Breadalbane, who are expecting some snow, await the unknown Wastelands FC.

Finally, both Auchterarder and Burrelton were unlucky to draw each other but it makes for an interesting tie as both clubs are at the top of their respective divisions. It should be a tight affair.

On league business in Division tTo, it looks like many draws could be on the cards as, on recent form, there is not much to separate the clubs. Game of the day will be Stanley who host Vale of Atholl to decide top spot.

In Division Three, there is a full card and, with the exception of possibly Rattray away to Villareal, home form should secure three points for all concerned.
