It is with great sadness we must report the untimely death of SAFL stalwart, Jack McConnell.  Jack had been involved with both Saturday and Sunday football for many, many years and had been an experienced, loyal and valued member of the Executive Committee of the SAFL for most of his adult life.

He held various positions in the SAFL including Secretary, Match Secretary and Assistant Match Secretary. He was held in high esteem by all at the SAFL, SAFA and those involved with the Sunday Associations and was a Life Member of all these organisations.

Jack had a great love of all sports but had a lifelong passion for football and devoted a great deal of his life to the amateur game.
